Parastoo is a serif typeface designed primarily for Persian and Arabic scripts, with Latin support included. It has a clean, upright construction with moderate stroke contrast and well-defined serifs that give it a structured, legible appearance. The letterforms are balanced and functional rather than decorative, sitting somewhere between a traditional text serif and a more neutral editorial style. It reads as professional and dependable without feeling stiff, making it approachable across a range of content types.
Parastoo works well in contexts where bilingual Persian-Latin content needs a unified visual tone, such as news and media websites targeting Farsi-speaking audiences. It is a solid choice for educational platforms or digital publications that need consistent readability across long-form text in both scripts. It also suits institutional or government-adjacent projects where a clean, trustworthy serif presence is needed without leaning into overly stylized type choices.
Best suited for: Bilingual Persian-Latin editorial projects, news platforms, educational content, and institutional communications requiring consistent legibility across both scripts and extended text.
Design considerations: Parastoo's moderate stroke contrast and structured serifs support readability in body text while maintaining a professional tone across Persian and Latin letterforms. The available weight range from regular through 700 offers flexibility for hierarchy without requiring supplementary typefaces for emphasis.
Pairing guidance: Pair Parastoo with Playfair Display for contrasting display headlines, Noto Sans for supporting interface elements or captions needing sans-serif neutrality, and Amiri to reinforce Arabic-script contexts while maintaining serif consistency across related content.
